Tech Radar Trends 2026

This update comes after a short hiatus from our usual cadence, so alongside the newer shifts, a few long-overdue changes are finally catching up with the radar.

React's move to Adopt is just a formality, we've been building on it consistently across projects for a long time now, Adopt simply reflects the growth of knowledge across our team. uSkinned follows for a similar reason: it's proven itself as a strong accelerator for smaller scope Umbraco projects.

React Native also climbs, to Assess, in recognition of how mature and widely it is compared to Microsoft's own hybrid platform, MAUI. A larger community, a richer third-party ecosystem and battle-tested tooling. It also means our React web expertise carries over directly to mobile, increasing agility and leveraging skills we've already built.

AI continues to sit at the center of our roadmap on two fronts. On the client side, we've been heavily invested in building AI solutions with success stories across different industries, and MCP's move to Adopt reflects that continued commitment.

Internally, we're pushing to make DXspark (and moOngy) itself more productive by leaning on AI tools deeply woven into our largely Microsoft-based ecosystem - Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry - alongside cutting-edge LLM-powered coding tools like Claude Code (also joining Adopt).

Rounding this out, we're exploring how to optimize costs in edge cases and enable AI in local-only scenarios like IoT solutions: Ollama and WebUI join the radar at Assess as we continue to experiment with different locally-hosted models.

Firebase and Azure SignalR's move to Adopt is simply catching up to already existing practices, both have been at the center of our mobile development strategy without this being reflected in the radar.

Browserstack's addition at Assess follows a similar logic: with remote work now the norm, an ever-expanding range of necessary test devices, and AI increasingly handling exploratory testing and app mapping, evaluating a platform that guarantees faster testing across more devices was a natural next step.
