Tech Radar Trends Quarter 1 2024

For early 2024, we have changes in the open source/FOSS segment on our Tech Radar. With the introduction of Matomo, a web analytics platform, and UnifiedPush, a set of tools and specifications for sending push notifications. These are two alternatives to the usual cloud-based SaaS providers that guarantee full data ownership for companies focused on ensuring data privacy.

We also have the introduction of the most popular AI Code Assistant within DXspark: Github Copilot. Copilot has demonstrated enormous potential in accelerating development by generating simple code segments, assessing code quality, suggesting unit tests, and, of course, serving as a powerful autocomplete tool.

Both AI Services and Github received an upgrade in the ring where they were inserted.

Finally, MQTT, considered by many to be the gold standard for IoT messaging, is introduced to our Tech Radar. A solution that we have already applied in several projects over the years, and that, with the continued focus on connectivity between devices in all facets of our lives, we believe warrants greater focus.
